Elemental8's treatment of the Varian ProBeam proton therapy system is an integrated solution to numerous design, engineering, and usability challenges, while treating a room-sized medical system with an attention to detail normally used on much smaller products.

This design direction avoids the often stern and colder aesthetic of medical equipment and instead focuses on creating an approachable appearance more common to consumer goods. This improves patient comfort and gives Varian a more design-oriented product to showcase.
